Sinead O'Connor performed last night at City Winery in NYC. The venue is very intimate however the sight-lines and bustle of the wait staff is distracting. Regardless, she brought the power, dynamism and force of will that we expect of her. Possessed by something mystical like the Holy Spirit, Sinead delivered raw emotion, charismatic stage presence and Rock n’ Roll. Playing mostly songs from the recent two albums and foregoing many hits, Sinead showed us that her new material can keep up with the old stuff. (Which is not mostly true) However, with a creative force like her, you need to just trust in her performance and work and accept the gift and inspiration that is Sinead O'Connor. BTW the above photo is essentially how she dressed on stage, with bare feet. (Take off your shoes, you’re on hallowed ground)

In 2007 I founded the Proust Society of Brooklyn. What began with 10 members eventually became a solid 3 and after 7 years we are finally done with the entirety of “In Search of Lost Time” It’s been an epic, Proustian journey! I feel satisfied with its completion but it will be strange not to have this constant literary companion. #proust #proustsocietyofbrooklyn #lifeaccomplishments
